Intervention and Statebuilding Seminar, 20th January 2011

The next Intervention and Statebuilding seminar will take place on Thursday 20th January @ 18:00 in the Westminster Forum, 5th Floor, 32-38 Wells Street.

Dr James Pattison from the University of Manchester will give a seminar on 'The Ethics of Employing Private Military Force'.

Dr Pattison is a Lecturer in Politics at the University of Manchester. His research interests concern the moral issues raised when using military force abroad, including humanitarian intervention, the responsibility to protect, and the increased use of private military companies. His PhD on humanitarian intervention was awarded the Sir Ernest Barker Prize for Best Dissertation in Political Theory by the Political Studies Association. His latest book is, Humanitarian Intervention and the Responsibility to Protect: Who Should Intervene?,
